Ghost in the Shell

A few years ago I started watching the anime Ghost in the Shell which is set in a dystopian future. It revolves largely around cyber-terrorism and the organisation put together to counter it. The anime was based off a manga series and the franchise includes several films and video games too! This short post isn't a review, but I was really surprised to hear that it will be hitting the big screen with Scarlett Johansson starring as the main protagonist. I'm curious how the film will turn out and about the other cast members since the series is set in Japan, with all the original characters Japanese. (Actually there is a petition with over 50,000 signatures accusing Dreamwork of a 'whitewash'..) Here is the imdb link, but unfortunately the estimated release is 2017. Let's hope it'll be worth the wait~
